Ensemble Evolution - Piteå Musikhögskolan, Sweden
An international percussion group combining improvisation, composition and electroacoustics, based in Piteå, Sweden. Ensemble Evolution was in residence at Studio Acousticum and Piteå Musikhögskolan from September 2010 to June 2012. Over these two years, the group hosted an international percussion festival in Piteå, performed in the USA, Australia, Lithuania, Finland and throughout Sweden and created a catalogue of their own new percussion music as well as collaborations and commissioned works from other composers. The Last Man to Die 2010
An installation/performance produced in Canberra and performed at Belconnen Theatre, PACT Centre for Emerging Artists, Sydney, Street 2, Canberra, Brisbane Festival’s Under The Radar programme and at The Blue Room, Perth.
"THE LAST MAN TO DIE" explores a future where humanity has triumphed over ageing and death and looks back at a time when people lived for barely a single century. Audiences experience first hand the brave new world explored by those first immortals and the choices faced by the last to die.
